National Bureau of Statistics of China announced the consumer price index of August last tuesday. Pork prices rose closed to 50%. This triggered the concern of pork shortage in the biggest pork consumption country.

According to records, on average chinese people consume 700 million pigs a year. Pork takes up to 60% of the meat consumption in Chinese diet. National Bureau of Statistics of China showed that meat prices in China rose 30.9% in auAust, while pork rose 46.7%. Consumer price index rose 1.08%.
